Yet again I have procrastinated and am a week behind on this thing. I seriously don't know how ppl blog everyday.
So last week where I left off...We ended up staying at our house on Tuesday...no more hotels..yay!! Bathroom still wasn't finished but we could at least use the toilet and sit in the bathtub and bathe. I hate baths! To me, a bath is like sitting in your own filth and germs. haha I prefer a shower but when a shower is not an option a "splash" bath is a definite must! I call it splash bath cause I don't fill the tub up, I just wash and splash the water on me. It works for me. :)
It was either Tuesday or Wednesday last week that Aaron and his dad started tiling the shower area. That part is now completed and looks beautiful. We used 12 in tiles and did a border with some glass tiles. We love it!
Then on to Thursday...Thanksgiving! We left for Columbus in the a.m. We were celebrating it over at my uncle and aunts house. they host it every year but we don't always make it cause we live 3 hrs away and we try to switch off between my fam and Aaron's. This yr we wanted to make sure we were their to be with/for my mom though. 1st thanksgiving w/o my dad. It was definitely hard to be there w/o him. He loved this time of year. Family is the most important thing to me and that is what I was most thankful for that day and everyday. We had a great time though visiting with everyone and knew my dad was there in spirit.
Friday we were going to go to Amish country in Sugar Creek but it started raining on Thursday nite and was going to be too cold so we decided against it. I really wanted to go cause we had gone last year with my dad. But we couldn't run the risk of getting the kiddies sick. We just stayed home and did a bunch of crafty things that mom had for us to do.
Saturday we took the kids to Build -A-Bear. My mom had bought each of them a bear w/o the stuffing so we had to go get them stuffed, named and bathed. :) Kids had a lot of fun.
We also went to visit my Aunt Debbie, cousin Sarah and her little boy. Their 1st time meeting Charlie. :)
Sunday was our day to come home but mom talked us into staying one more nite. So we did. Here are some more photos from our stay at moms...
Monday we left around 930 a.m. to come home. I hate leaving Columbus when we go down there. It is home to me. We got home around 1245. We stopped at Home Depot on our way to get the sealer for the grout. So Aaron worked on that and finished it. We were able to use our shower for the 1st time that nite! Well I didn't cause I don't take showers at nite but everyone else got to use it. While Aaron worked on the bathroom I started to put things away that my mom had sent home with me...we can never leave her house w/o coming home with stuff. haha So in my attempt to put things in their place I became overwhelmed and decided to just rearrange a few places. The living room for starters. Had to make room for the Christmas tree! Then the closet in the living room, then our closet in our room. Oh what a mess of our house did I make!! But now it is done and I feel tons better about how it looks and where things are! Yesterday Aaron went to work, Jay back to school, Skylee stayed home cause she had a sore throat and a bellyache. This is how she spent her day. ;)
I cleaned and got all of our Christmas decorations out. All except the tree. I also love this time of year..it is my favorite! My mind always gets flooded with great childhood memories that I will cherish forever! Okay so we mde it up to today. :) I woke up this morning at about 230 and have been up since. I ended up putting the tree up. Just the tree though...lights and ornaments come later in the day. Aaron is going to finish the bathroom with his uncle today. walls still need tiled and a new floor needs put in. Oh and painting needs done...not sure if he will get that far but it is getting done nonetheless. I am going to get Aaron's Bday gift today...2 more days and he will be 42! Where has the time gone!?!? I can't believe Charlie will be 3 months on that same day either! Oh and me a member of The Church for 9 yrs! I hate getting older...makes me sad sometimes. Esp since my dad is gone. It's like that part of my life has come to an end and there is emptiness there. I just feel numb sometimes and am not sure if or when this feeling or lack of will go away. I know I will see my dad again...I KNOW that! But I just can't stop thinking about life NOW...here on this earth....and all the things we will miss out on with him. That's what I am having trouble with. I had a little bit of a cry Monday on our way home and again Monday nite, but I just feel I need a really good, long cry to get all of these feelings out cause it just wasn't enough. It's hard to do when you don't have a moment to yourself though. Maybe I will make a point to do that tomorrow...kids will be at school and Aaron at work. Okay so that's it for now...kids are up and I need to get them ready for school. Be back later to give an update on bathroom.
