Sophie and Louie...Our little elves

Dec. 1, 2012
Well this is how we found our elves this morning...

They got into Aaron's birthday cake and had chocolate all over their faces. ;)  Sophie opened her gift from Skylee...a bracelet that she is now wearing.  Fun!  Kids can't wait to see where they are tomorrow.

Aaron's 42nd Birthday!

Aaron turns 42 today!  Man how time flies.  I met him when he was 29 and I was 19!  Crazy!!!  So today I wrapped his gifts, a robe and a new wallet. In which he LOVED!  (His old robe I called the "old man robe"  haha  Something about it just screamed "old man to me."  It was pretty tattered and torn and the fact that he used it as a rug for when he was remodeling our bathroom made me want to get him a brand new one.  So glad that other one is out of our lives.  He had had it since I met him and way before that even!)

Baked him a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

And we all took him out to dinner to Cracker Barrel. Then we came back home for cake and snickers ice cream.

We had a lot of fun!  He said it was a great birthday. So, I'm happy that he's happy. :)  Oh I almost forgot, before he got home we all decided that we would hide and jump out and say "Surprise, Happy Birthday!"  So that's just what we did.  I got some stuff out from New Years this past year i.e. horns and poppers and when we heard his big truck a rumblin up the street we all scrambled and hid.  He was surprised.  He told the kids that they almost made him pee his pants when he heard the horns. haha

Today is also kinda like a birthday for Charlie.  He is 3 months old today!  Talk about time flying!!!!  I can't believe it!  He is just such a cute little mister!  I just can't seem to get enough of him! :)  We are truly blessed to have him in our family and call him ours!  I look forward to all of his milestones but at the same time it will be a bit bittersweet.  I just don't want to wish his life away or hurry it along in any way by saying "I can't wait for such and such to happen."  It will go by fast enough w/o me doing that...so we will just say nothing of the sorts and just let each day happen as it will. :)

Today was just full of surprises...A knock came at our door a while after we all got home.  So Skylee went to it and I said "who is it?"  She replied "no one, but someone left this and whoever it was sure was nice."  She brought it in and it was a big gift bag addressed to her, Jay and Charlie and said "From The North Pole."  They opened it and it was a girl and boy elf on the shelf and the movie An Elf's Story.  Skylee said in an excited voice while ripping the tissue paper out of the bag "Grandma said they were coming to see us."  haha Love the excitement it brought to her.  So we opened them and read the story, the kids picked a place to sit them and we gave them each a name.  Sophie and Louie.  The kids then watched the movie and talked about the elves and where they might be the next morning. :)
